the ABEL eCampus

GroupSense provides an eCampus for around 1200 students per year who are doing a post-graduate distance learning programme provided by Advanced Business Education Ltd (ABEL). The ABEL Programme has an empahisis on developing professional skills including online collaboration

The February 2005 edition of the Chartered Accountants Journal contained an article entitled "Chartered Cyber Course" (PDF, 111kb) that describes the eCampus and the benefits that ABEL and its customers receive from the eCampus.

GroupSense has been providing the eCampus for ABEL since 2000. The eCampus provides Online Groups where students collaborate on team assignments. Originally using Yahoo! Groups, the eCampus has been running on GroupServer since 2003. It now provides assessment results, photosheets, workshop information sheets and gathers and reports on feedback as well as static content.

GroupSense works with ABEL to constantly improve both the technology and the design for collaboration. ABEL outsources the day to day management of the eCampus to GroupSense who work closely with ABEL's staff. GroupSense is currently integrating the eCampus with ABEL's new Student Management System eMinerva.
